Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is double-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Aims and Scope
The Entrepreneurship Journal for Finance and Business (EJFB) is an international peer-reviewed scientific journal published quarterly in both Arabic and English as an open-access publication.

Publisher: College of Business Economics, Al-Nahrain University, Republic of Iraq.
First Issue: 2020.

The primary aim of EJFB is to serve as a leading platform for the dissemination of high-quality scientific articles and research papers both within Iraq and internationally. It seeks to stimulate intellectual engagement and academic discourse, particularly in the field of economics and business.

Types of Papers Considered
The journal welcomes original and rigorous research papers from across the globe that address the latest developments in the broad and dynamic fields of finance and business, including (but not limited to):

  • Business Administration
  • Accounting
  • Statistics
  • Economics
  • Banking and Financial Sciences

Submissions outside the scope of management and economics—such as those in literature, agriculture, law, media, and journalism—will not be considered.

Before Submission
This section provides essential guidelines for authors to ensure their manuscript meets the journal’s technical and editorial standards.

Technical Submission Guidelines

    • Title in English

Author Information Format

  • Full name in both Arabic and English (for all contributing authors)
  • Affiliation and institutional address (in both Arabic and English)
  • Submission date
  • Email addresses of all authors

Abstract

  • Both English and Arabic abstracts must be included at the beginning of the manuscript, immediately following the author’s name.
  • Abstract length: between 150 and 350 words.
  • Manuscripts in Arabic must include both Arabic and English abstracts. For manuscripts submitted in English, an Arabic abstract is not required.
  • Abstracts should clearly present the research problem, methodology, and key findings.

Keywords
Include a minimum of 5 keywords immediately following the abstract.

Introduction
The introduction should clearly define the research problem, provide a literature review, and outline the proposed approach or solution in a clear and coherent manner.

Manuscript Format

  • Software: Microsoft Word
  • Paper size: A4
  • Maximum length: 25 pages
  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12
  • Line spacing: Single (0.1)
  • Margins: 2 cm (left and right), 3 cm (top and bottom)

Headings

  • Main headings: Times New Roman, 14 pt, bold
  • Subheadings: Times New Roman, 12 pt, bold

Research Methodology
Authors must describe the research methodology, including:

  • Main research problem
  • Importance and objectives of the study
  • Hypothesis formulation
  • Conclusions and recommendations

Main Text
The main body of the manuscript must begin on a new page, separate from the title page. Since peer review is anonymous, author names should not appear in the main text but only on the title page.

Figures and Tables

  • All figures, tables, charts, and diagrams must be clear, numbered sequentially, and appropriately titled.
  • References to tables and figures must be cited in the text (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1).
  • Table titles should appear above the table, aligned to the right. Sources and notes (if any) should appear below the table.
  • Figure titles should appear below the figure, centered. Sources and notes should be integrated with the figure where necessary.

References
All references cited in the manuscript must be listed in full at the end, organized alphabetically, using the APA citation style. Footnotes should not be used for referencing.

Note: Arabic-language sources should be romanized and may include an English translation in square brackets for clarity.
Example:

Editorial Rights
The editorial board reserves the right to make minor modifications for formatting and clarity without altering the research content.

Non-Compliant Submissions
Submissions that do not meet the above requirements will not be considered for publication.

Intellectual Property and Publishing Ethics
EJFB adheres to the highest standards of research integrity and publishing ethics, and follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The journal seeks to promote transparency, fairness, and quality in scholarly publishing.

  1. Research Integrity and Misconduct
    The journal prohibits all forms of research misconduct, including:
  • Plagiarism
  • Data fabrication or falsification
  • Citation manipulation
  • Duplicate submission

Suspected violations will be investigated in accordance with COPE procedures. Submissions may be rejected or retracted as necessary, with notification to relevant authorities.

  1. Authorship Criteria
    All authors must:
  • Contribute significantly to the research or writing
  • Approve the final manuscript before submission
  • Avoid honorary authorship (listing non-contributors)
  1. Peer Review Policy
    The journal employs a double-blind peer review system.
  • Reviewers are selected based on subject expertise.
  • Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and not use manuscript content for personal benefit.
  1. Copyright and Licensing
  • Authors retain ownership of their work.
  • EJFB receives a license to publish the article as the first publisher.

  1. Complaints and Appeals
    Complaints are handled transparently and fairly. These include:
  • Rejection appeals
  • Ethical concerns regarding authors or reviewers
  • Editorial misconduct

  1. Conflict of Interest
    All parties (authors, reviewers, editors) must disclose any financial or personal conflicts that could affect the impartiality of the research or editorial decisions.

Submission Process

  1. Initial Submission
  • Submissions are made through the journal’s platform: http://nejfb.edu.iq
  • Each manuscript is initially reviewed for alignment with the journal’s aims and scope. Non-compliant papers are promptly rejected.
  • All submissions undergo plagiarism screening via Turnitin.

Plagiarism and AI Content Limits

  • Maximum allowable similarity index: 20% (no single source above 5%)
  • AI-generated content must not exceed 25% of the total manuscript
  • Violations result in immediate desk rejection. Retractions or corrections may be issued if issues are discovered post-publication.
  1. Peer Review Process
  • Manuscripts passing the initial screening are sent for double-blind peer review.
  • Reviewers evaluate scientific quality, methodology, and originality.
  1. Reviewer Reports
  • Reviewers provide feedback on strengths and weaknesses, and recommend:
    • Acceptance
    • Rejection
    • Revisions (minor or major)
  1. Editorial Decision
    Based on reviewer recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief may decide to:
  • Accept the paper
  • Request major revisions
  • Reject the paper
  1. Final Review and Editing
    Accepted papers undergo a final editorial review to ensure compliance with publication standards.
  2. Publication
    After revisions and final approval, the article is published in the next available issue. Authors will be notified of the publication date.

Additional Notes

  • The review process adheres to the highest standards of academic ethics.
  • All submissions are handled in strict confidentiality.
  • Expert reviewers are selected to ensure objective evaluations.
  • Upon acceptance, the following publication fees apply:
    • 125,000 IQD for authors inside Iraq
    • Additional 25,000 IQD for plagiarism screening
    • Free of charge for international authors, including plagiarism screening
